6 for 6 letter writing campaign for the Congo.

Please join 6 for 6 Facebook group  – and write – and encourage others to do so.

New blog page devoted to the campaign.

The goal is 6000 letters to be delivered at the Consumer and Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, January 8 to 11, 2009.

·        Government Barcamp – Sept. 5 at the Code Factory in Ottawa.  British government doing some neat things. Stratford-On-Avon site a great example.

·        My first paid podcasting presentation! Gave me new insight into the debate stated by CC Chapman on the question: who is a social media expert?

·        Podcamp Montreal – organized by Sylvain Grand’Maison, Julien Smith (Julien’s Bert & Ernie gangsta rap mashup), Bob Goyetche, Mitch Joel, Jean-François Blais, Laurent LaSalle, Laurent Maisonnave, Hugh McGuire, Harold Boeck et Michelle Sullivan. This week 383 people signed up and registration closed.

·        Two workshops on Sunday aimed at the non-profit sector by Andrew Jankowich of MetaBoston Media.: Social Media For Nonprofit and Arts Organizations at 9am and Social Media and Fundraising at 3pm.

·        Canadian election….

·        It seems Pam Kapoor was right about how use of social media in the US is already having an impact on the timing of the Canadian election.

·        Use of social media by parties in Canadian election shows that social media has gone mainstream.  Kate Trgovac from the mynameiskate.ca blog has nice post where she grades the parties on their social media use.

·        This week’s interview is with another rabblite, rabble.ca publisher Kim Elliott about rabble’s multiauthor election blog.
