§         leverage ‘conversation’ for the traditional marketing and public relations functions

§         gather enthusiast customers to improve products & services and hone messaging

§         access and harness the collective intelligence of its market to solve customer care issues

§         promote and leverage an open source development environment

o       CANCELLED: Mark Blevis of Canadian Podcast Buffet speaking about Return on Influence: Turning Connectivity into Being Connected for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Ottawa.

 

o       Barack Obama and Google get in to video game ads.

o       AOL promoting Bebo social network.

o       Coke Tag: Branded widget on which people can put links to all their online stuff and then share with their friends so their friends have an easy way to get to all their stuff. And all with a big Coke logo at the bottom. It also has a click counter for people to track who's looking at their CokeTag, see where they click and find out how popular their links are.

o       Community radio station CKCU uses YouTube battle, promoted through Facebook, to launch fundraising drive.
